Williams, AZ

Williams was day three for us. It is just outside of the Grand Canyon and houses the station for the Grand Canyon Railroad. There is a lot of fun history here - of particular interest to us was this old Grand Hotel that had been completely rehabbed by a young couple. She let us walk through every room that wasn't occupied - very originally and creatively decorated, really kept an authentic feel. The kicker was we could have stayed there for nearly half of what we had to pay at the Marriott. Of course the rooms are smaller and there is no workout room, air conditioning or pool - but, like Carter Hall, you stay there for the ambiance. This is the outside (the original had a brick front) and one of the rooms.
